Ode to 2008... from my shutter

I'm out of practice. Digital photography has spoiled me-- not just the technology, but more so the availability of other photographers and their better cameras.

Nevertheless, I did shoot a number of gigabytes last year and whittled it down to the Sweet 16 of 2008. In chronological order...

Kaohsiung, Taiwan: I don't know why it took me 13 years to discover this view...

Qijin Beach, Kaohsiung: Our annual seminar outing to the beach

Jiayi, Taiwan: Tom invited us down to his home for Chinese New Year, where most of us learned mahjong for the first time.

Guam: OK, so this is not the best reflection of our vacation in Guam, but this pig pretty much captured our sentiments about the waterfall park that we paid $20 each to see.

Guam: We did like the beaches in Guam quite a lot. (Doesn't Boba make a classic Hallmark card model?)

Taipei, Taiwan:
Leaving my home in Taiwan was just about the hardest thing I've ever done.

National Cemetery, Guatemala City

Samuel Center, Guatemala

Panajachel, Guatemala

Bristol Harbor, New York

Hoboken, New Jersey (Manhattan skyline)

Battery Park, New York City

Times Square, New York City:
Yes, this was a self-portrait. Yes, it took many tries. Yes, we still have our camera.

Union Station, New York City: What happens when you miss your train and wait for the last one back to New Jersey...

Manhattan Bridge & Brooklyn Bridge, New York City

Taipei 101, Taiwan

  1. I love your pictures!!! =) Leaving home is SO hard! And leaving a place that captured ones heart and became home is even harder! Leaving Taiwan was so much harder for me than leaving home to go to Taiwan. =) Maybe someday I will go back. Love ya girl! I have an email in the works to send to ya... =) School has kept me very busy, so hopefully it will get sent soon.
